, a small neighborhood just south of Buckhead is the only completely enclaved neighborhood in the area with the kind of privacy most urban residents can only dream about.  There are 370 historic Brookwood Hills home are set on 40 gently rolling acres.  These homes come in a wide variety of styles from large Mediterranean to Georgian to Colonial to Tudor-styled homes.  The streets are lined and shaded by towering 100 years old oaks.

Brookwood Hills is conveniently close to shopping and restaurants along Peachtree Road and is directly across Peachtree Street from Piedmont Hospital.  If you want to shop or dine out, it is only a pleasant  stroll to plenty of shops, galleries, and restaurants. 

The history of the area goes back to the natives who lived in the area.  There is a granite monument marking the spot where two major Creek Indian trails intersected, the Echota Trail and the Peachtree Trail.

In the late 1880s, a prominent Atlanta hotel owner named Joseph Thompson and his wife built a country estate near what is now the Peachtree Road-I-85 interchange.  They called it "Brookwood.”  The area soon attracted other rich Atlantans to the area who built their homes in a developed neighborhood and it became suburban residential neighborhood of Atlanta in the 1920s.

The oldest section of the Brookwood neighborhood was added to the National Register of Historic Places in the 1970s, and in 1994 Brookwood Hills was designated an Atlanta Conservation District.  In 1999, a once-elegant row of Brookwood shops was torn down for construction of Brookwood Place, a development of several condominiums, a few new town homes, as well as some new retail shops.

There is plenty of history and character in the Brookwood Hills homes and conveniences abounds for the residents.  In addition there are excellent schools for children in the neighborhood which include E.
